This project was done as an imaginary scenario of the future. The bot represents a person from the future that travels the Universum in a space ship. The person finds a record of a book from the past with words that they doesn't understand, and tries to find their meaning. The name of the bot (Win-Ka Wana) is a play on the names of the main characters from the books 1984 by George Orwell (Win-ston) and 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami (Kawana), as I tried to imagine a world that would be much different from the dystopian worlds in those two books. Many of the constructs that now exist have stopped existing in this imaginary future e.g. gender, race, productivity, different feelings etc. This project marks my first attempt to imagine an utopian future. As most of my science fiction influences have been dystopian, it is hard to step away from them and try to imagine an opposite scenario. However, if I don't try I risk contributing to the prevalent idea of a distopian future. The bot is still work in progress.
